afcturn_ A treacherous offering. Brilliant melodies in riffs, 90s style vocals, and solid composition. Songwriting ability shows more here than in Where Silence Whispers. By far my favorite in the Greek scene. May be my favorite of all 2022 releases.

H.L. Rumbling drums, buzzing guitars and echoing harsh vocals, mainly rushing straight forward are the main elements of "Demise on Heaven". That is quite a rousing melodic black mixture although the songs are all rather similar. Variation comes by occasional changes of pace and melodic keyboards here and there. Check the opener or "Ejaculate the Masses of Holiness". Favorite track: Ejaculate the Masses of Holiness.

connebert Another unimpeachable effort from Lunar Spells. Ragingly orthodox but irresistibly melodic, to the extent of appealing even to non-BM fans (e.g. my son and brother!). Probably my favourite release in a year packed with excellent albums.

Lunar Spells is a Greek Black Metal band formed in Athens in 2020, by Cryptic (guitar, vocals, synths), K.C.H (bass) and V.T (drums). Both musically and lyrically, Lunar Spells stays close to the roots of Scandinavian "old school" black metal. Lyrical subjects thus often deal with darkness, depression, misanthropy and hate. After their first EP recording Medieval Shadows from an Ancient Netherworld (2020), the line-up was augmented by Atxak on vocals, and the group recorded their debut full length album Where Silence Whispers. On the second full length album, Cryptic took over the vocals part again, while the musical and conceptual direction remained the same.

Late 90's BM worship, but it's also a lil more than that. This album takes the best elements from the scene it's inspired by and mostly avoids the worst of it; the song-writing is well-written, it's performed with passion and fun, and the production is raw but isn't lo-fi. (i.e. it doesn't obfuscate and/or suckass). Tl;dr It's safe but high quality BM. Recommended. Rabbit
